HT and the Data TLB
The DTLB is a shared resource and each entry contains the logical processor ID. To ensure fairness to each of the logical processors, and that each of them can continue to make forward progress in the event of a DTLB miss, each logical processor has a reservation register (transparent to software). The Intel® documentation does not describe how the reservation register is used.
