When Must the Image Upload Take Place?
It is not necessary to load the update into the processor(s) immediately after RESET# is removed or early in the Power-On Self Test (POST) process. Intel® guarantees that the boot processor can successfully execute the POST without having an update loaded. Intel® recommends that the BIOS author provide a system setup option to enable or disable update loading. This implies that update loading occurs after the POST gets to the point where the user can enter system setup mode. However, it should be noted that Intel® documentation specifies the following as a loader requirement:
