Half-thoughts need to be heard

A lot of your time is spent forming and sharing complete thoughts. Write a report. Build a presentation. Provide an agenda. In reality, you also share a large amount of incomplete thoughts, or half-thoughts, too. Everyone does. What we are not always so good at, however, is capturing half-thoughts and appreciating their creative value.

Half-thoughts are concepts, based on instinct, that will not necessarily have a completely determined direction. A half-thought is the foremost concept that you can recall when you unexpectedly talk through a topic with someone. It is not a prepared, calculated statement.
