Truth 27. There is such a thing as a bad question

Questions are good. We learn when we ask questions. We gain new insights when we query others. We obtain a new understanding of the world in which we live by asking.

We also know that when we work with others that asking questions helps us do a better job as team members. Questions help us clarify work assignments, outline the tasks involved, and explore unforeseen variables together.

Yet, there definitely are some bad (as in downright dangerous) questions when it comes to preemployment interviewing. You may think you’re asking an insightful question, but the question may not be job-related and, therefore, may not provide you with the job-related information you need to make an informed decision. ...
