Boats that don’t leave a wake aren’t moving. The transformative CEO is always moving, always creating a wake. The transformative CEO is moving against the flows, causing an impressive wake. In some way, his or her wake always impacts every person in the organization. The wake can be a little ripple, dramatic, misinterpreted, positive, negative, fear-causing.
Be aware of your wake. Be completely aware of what you say, what you write, what you do. Every single action causes waves that rock the organization to some degree. Communicate clearly and carefully.
