Grounds and grounding are topics we hear a lot about in electronics and communications. The grounding concept is key to the proper operation of an electrical power system, to safety concerns, to radio and communications, and to reduction of electromagnetic interference. Despite its importance, many books on radio communications and electronics fail to address the topic in sufficient detail. In this chapter we will look at radio-frequency (RF) grounds, how to make them, and how to install them.
