For this project, you will build a small end table, but for a challenge, I won’t include any right angles. Figure 18.1 shows my triangular creation. Although 10-gauge sheet metal is significantly thicker than automotive sheet metal, you still have to be careful about the amount of heat you generate when welding and grinding. A fun thing about this project is that the tabletop will give the illusion of being made out of solid ⅝-in-thick steel.
