Now onto the bread and butter of this book. My guess is that 99 percent of readers will skip ahead directly to this chapter to start making welds. That’s fine, but I think the information leading up to this chapter is pivotal in understanding what it takes to form a sound weld. Most important, though, getting a project to the point where it’s ready to weld takes quite a bit of preparation. From cutting material down, cleaning the surface, and chamfering corners, as you learned earlier in the book, there are quite a few tools you need to be comfortable with.
