So far we’ve looked at how to choose and rig the key equipment required to put on a live-music event, but the best equipment in the world is of no use if the person operating it doesn’t know what they are doing. Small and medium-sized venues may seem on a different scale to what you see at major tours and stadium gigs, but that doesn’t actually make the mix engineer’s job any easier, or less important, and as we’ll see, it can, in some ways, be more difficult.
