7.3. Step 10: Identify new business needs
Often there is some growth forecast over the term of a multi-year software agreement that may not be identified to a project at the time the purchase is made. If the identification of projects that use this software is vital to your value realization, then it is the responsibility of the SDT to assist you as the EBS in discovering or creating those projects. Also realize that as new projects are discovered, there may be a need to purchase additional software to augment that which you already own. This software that needs project identification is referred to as the “software gap.”
