5.1. Step 1: Create the Software Deployment Team

When you are confident that you know which products you will purchase, start assembling the team that will deploy the products. Coordinate your efforts with the IBM Software Account Manager (SAM) to create a team with members from both companies that will decide on deployment plans and projects. The team will also deal with any issues that come up in the deployment cycle.

The typical roles that make up the SDT are:

  • Enterprise Business Sponsor

  • Project leads

  • Information Technology (IT) architects (internal and from IBM)

  • IBM Technical Specialists

  • Services representatives

  • Partner representatives (if involved)
