The Company

The ARM business model is unique as they license their semiconductor intellectual property (IP) to a huge number of Partners, primarily semiconductor manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). These Partners rely on ARM’s IP to design high performance, low power processors that lie at the heart of a variety of devices, including smartphones, tablet PCs, digital set-top boxes, smart meters and internet connected devices. At present, ARM technology powers a large share of internet connected devices, including over 90 per cent of the world’s smartphones and tablets.

ARM work collaboratively with 250 licensees, who manufacture ARM-based semiconductor chips, and with over 800 ARM Connected Community (CC) partners who support ARM-based products in the market.

In Q1 2011 approximately 1,800 employees delivered more than $180 million in revenue and shipments of over 1.8 billion ARM-based processors.
