This section includes examples of the most commonly used design of experiment methods using software. Whenever possible the examples employ popular software, such as Microsoft Excel. For detailed mathematical background on these methods, the reader is referred to any of the many fine books on the subject (e.g. Box et al., 1978; Hicks, 1993; Montgomery, 1996).
