Let me be clear: overexposing an image is the absolute worst thing you can do when it comes to image quality. When you overexpose a shot, crucial details such as skin texture, words on paper, surface textures, etc., are rendered on video as blobs of white nothingness.

Once those crucial visual details of texture, words on white paper, skin tone, etc., are lost to overexposure, they are gone forever, baby, and they ain’t coming back. So you need to always be vigilant and mindful of keeping a good exposure on your subjects. Whether it’s a person, place, or thing- it’s gotta be properly exposed.
