STEALING CUTAWAYS AND REACTION SHOTS

One of the greatest challenges of shooting a live event like a wedding with a single camera is getting enough coverage or different shots and angles of the unfolding action. It’s boring to just stare at the bride and groom in the same medium shot for 15 minutes straight. Not only that, but if there is a camera bump, a temporary audio mistake, or a tape change, you will need another shot to cut away to so you can smoothly cut out the bad part of the video. Shooting lots of cutaways will make your end video 5 times better and editing will be 10 times easier. Time and again, having enough good cutaways has saved my butt in the edit room.

Cheat and steal cutaways and reaction shots whenever the opportunity presents ...
