Getting a video to go viral can be one of the biggest thrills of a filmmaker’s early career. Going viral is as much alchemy as it is science, but there are some best practices you should observe:
• First and Foremost, Have an Awesome Video: The videos that do the best have the most original ideas, the best music, and the most arresting visuals. If you can do something legitimately incredible, that’s going to be the single most important factor in going viral.
• Tags: You need to have tons of tags to make your video as searchable as possible. Don’t just tag it with literal descriptors, but with the names of similar artists. If your band is the next White Stripes, go ahead and tag it White Stripes.
