This is some fairly intense color adjustment. We filmed the subject, the very talented rapper Jake Lefco, with the sun at his back. His face was too dark, and the sunset was too bright. Using curves, we managed to bring out detail in both his face and the background. If I had had more time and a bigger budget, it might have been worthwhile to rotoscope the buildings and river behind him and use the original image settings for just the buildings and river, then only adjust the details of the sky ...
