Music videos are distinct from films and can’t really be scripted in the same way. With a film, you have a script, which is a standard format, and then you have conventional shooting techniques, like the master and two singles shooting setup that typifies 90 percent of all dialog scenes. A film script is easy to line and distill into a shot list. Music videos do not have standardized scripts for a lot of reasons. The logic that informs how they play out is totally different from narrative films. They often change locations, costumes, and scenario in split seconds. Music videos are naturally hard to plan for.
