LIGHTING COOKBOOK 2.0

NOTE:This is a pretty standard setup I use all the time: find a wall with some decent texture or decoration on it and add a slash of color behind your subject. This does three key things: (1) allows you to “paint” the scene whatever color you’d like to set the tone and feel, or contrast or complement your subject’s clothing; (2) helps you bring out the texture in the wall and use it to separate your subject from an otherwise flat background; and (3) allows you to have interesting lighting and shadows. I often use this setup when I’ve got multiple interviewees lined up for the same project.
