A Word (or Two) about Low Light Conditions

Here’s a common misconception: Today’s prosumer cameras perform great in low light.This is a true statement. However, it’s also a relative statement—meaning that today’s cameras perform “great” in low light relative to the crappier low-light performance we had a few years ago. Just think about how some otherwise average people look when they are standing with their ugly friend—great … but that “great” is relative to the company they’re in. (Hey, let’s be honest here; some nights we’re the average person, and some nights we’re the ugly friend. It’s all relative, baby.)
