TAMING WIND NOISE

The most common audio problem you’ll encounter when shooting exteriors is wind noise. Any large open space without sufficient obstacles to block the wind is going to be most susceptible to wind noise. City rooftops can be a particularly deceptive location because down at street level everything could sound perfectly fine, but six stories up on a rooftop, it’s often much windier than on the ground, since there are no longer any buildings to block the wind.
