ANALOG VERSUS DIGITAL MEASUREME

I think the easiest way to understand digital versus analog audio measurements is to think of it as the difference between the metric system (meters, milliliters, etc.) and the English system (yards, inches, etc.) of measuring. They are simply two very different scales to measure the exact same thing. However, just like the metric and English systems, the important point is to always be aware of exactly which one you’re dealing with and to know how to translate one into the other. So let’s start with how you can generally tell the difference.

Don’t screw it up.… When you’re using an analog mixer and a digital camera, tone should be sent from the mixer at 0/VU but set on the camera at −12dB or −20dB.
