Sound Mixer
The sound mixer’s main job is setting the audio levels by operating a mixer and/or separate audio recorder. The mixer is in charge of maintaining the quality of the audio and coming up with audio strategies to best capture each scene.
Primary Responsibilities
• Constantly monitoring audio quality
• Choosing mics and audio recording strategies
• Performing all audio troubleshooting
• Setting audio levels
• Miking up talent
• Running and securing audio cables
• Drafting sound reports
• Attending location scout
