Chapter 22

Y-Process

imageOn the way home, Dharma got to listen to her two favorite things: country music and Josh’s voice as he told her everything he’d learned from the farmer. She was so happy to listen to him that she decided to forgo sticking her head out the window. He told her about the purpose process and the four stages of growth. The farmer had told him about three stages and had said he would have to figure out the final stage for himself. Josh recited the three stages for her.

Stage 1: Preparation

Stage 2: Planting

Stage 3: Growth

To Dharma, it all made sense. But she thought the process needed a different name. It needed to be simpler. She thought it should be called the Y-process. Dogs keep things simple, after all.

She knew that every human was here for a greater purpose. They just had to be willing to be used for a greater purpose before they could discover this purpose. She figured it was a brilliant weeding-out process. Those willing to be used to make a difference would be given the opportunities and resources to make a difference. Those who would serve in small ways would be developed to serve in big ways. The Y-process made it all possible.

As people search for their why, or “Y” (i.e., their purpose and meaning in life), they need to start living their small “y,” which is simply a way to make a difference. Humans could do this within a job or outside a job. After ...
