How I Got Into Oticon

Thursday, September 1, 1988, just before 10 A.M., I drove down the narrow Copenhagen Road, Klædemålet, to start my new job as CEO at hearing aid manufacturer Oticon. On the way to the office, I had wondered where to park the car because I knew the area was normally crammed with cars at that time of the day. But I had no reason to be concerned: Parking space number one, right next to the main entrance to the Oticon building, had been cleared for me, and a prominent sign showing my name and title had been put up.
