The 2004 American presidential elections received widespread coverage throughout Europe. In most countries, including France, the exposure was on par with their own national elections. Of course, experts, politicians and journalists kept an eye on the campaign from the start, but it was the tremendous number of European citizens following the election via newspapers, radio and television that is noteworthy.
