When you study online, you learn about your classmates and your professor through the digital information they present about themselves. In this chapter, we’ll provide ways for you to form your digital presence in the online classroom.

We all have digital identities. Some of you may even have multiple online profiles, telling a different story about yourself depending upon the audience. These profiles make up a unique digital footprint. Most universities and colleges have a social networking platform to enable you to create a digital profile or portfolio. Doing so is an important first step in forming your academic digital presence.
