Appendix B When Technology Fails

Technologies are pretty much guaranteed to fail. Don’t panic when things go wrong. Be prepared and anticipate where problems can happen.

Try the following steps in this order when you’re having a problem:

  1. Try logging out, closing your browser window and signing back on, if that doesn’t work then …
  2. Quit out of your browser completely, and then try signing back in, if that doesn’t work then …
  3. Try another browser. Using Firefox? Try Safari? On Internet Explorer? Try Chrome instead. You’ve made sure they’re up to date, well before class right?
