I can remember being told this as a child and it made me cringe, I think because it was always said in a deeply sanctimonious voice, and it always accompanied some kind of misbehaviour on my part. Nevertheless, now I’m older and I’ve seen a bit more of life, I can’t deny that it’s exactly what the Rules are all about. That is to say that people who follow it are happier than those who don’t.
