Gandhi said, ‘Whatever you do in life will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it’. Philosophers can argue back and forth exactly what he meant, and he probably meant many things. One of those is that small actions can seem insignificant but they are what make up the big stuff. We saw this in Rule 59 about how you spend your day, but it counts in other ways too.

Essentially, you have to do what you believe in, even if you don’t believe it will make a difference. Suppose you think it’s really important to boycott companies that use child labour.
