Parents are people too

When was the last time you had a meal out without the kids? Spent an evening with friends and didn’t mention the children once? Got drunk? Spent half a day tinkering with an engine or pottering in the garden or however you used to while away happy hours before the children came along?

I hope it wasn’t too long ago. If you let it, being a parent can take over your life. We Rules parents need to know when to switch off. Of course you’re only ever on standby, not switched off at the wall, but you can have a lot of fun on standby.
