Webinars are speeches you give at your computer.

And your audience gets to enjoy your expertise at their computers.

Webinars feature your voice over your presentation slides. They are effective for demonstrating your value to customers and prospects with very little financial or time investment. A good webinar runs 30 to 60 minutes. You can use your topic list from the last chapter for your webinars.

The topics you write about in your newsletter get turned into a white paper.

The same topics can be combined to create your speech.

And the material in your speech is exactly the same material in your webinar.

How to Put on a Good Webinar

Since the webinar content is the same as what you'll create for your speech with the guidelines from the last chapter, let's look at the logistics of doing webinars:

  • This is a company-to-many activity, because you will invite all of the people on your list. With speeches, the organization or association is responsible for getting the audience into seats. With webinars, it is your responsibility.
  • Send multiple emails inviting people to your webinar. Five invitations over the two weeks leading up to the webinar is not too many.
  • Use a service like GoToWebinar to run your session. This is the one I use. It allows you to create an invitation page with a sign-up form, and then it does all the work for you. You get a link to place in your email invitations, ...
