Jim Al-Khalili OBE

Jim Al-Khalili is a professor of physics at the University of Surrey and holds a chair in the public engagement in science.

He has written several popular science books and regularly contributes to science and history programmes on both radio and television. He is currently writing a book on medieval Arabic science.

In 2007, he received the Royal Society’s Michael Faraday medal and prize and his picture is part of the National Portrait Gallery’s 21 Faces of British Science exhibition.

Jim is vice-president of the British Science Association and a senior adviser to the British Council.
