Check the Proposals

Log in each proposal (or bid, or quotation) resulting from your solicitation. Review each one to determine that it is complete and consistent with the requirements of your request for proposal (RFP). If your bidding process involves presentations or meetings with the bidders, schedule and hold them.

If necessary, request additional or clarifying information for any proposals that have minor defects. Screen out any proposals that fail to meet specific stated RFP requirements. If there are too few complete proposals (a typical minimum is three), determine how to proceed. Possible options include:

  • Evaluating what you do have

  • Extending the time and solicit more responses

  • Deciding not to outsource the work
