Predictive metrics are useful for developing a deeper understanding of the work and for comparing projects.
Predictive schedule metrics include:
Activity duration estimates
Project duration (calendar time)
Aggregated schedule risk, schedule reserve
Logical length (maximum number of activities, all paths)
Logical width (maximum number of parallel paths)
Logical project complexity (the ratio of activity dependencies to activities)
Project independence (ratio of internal dependencies to all dependencies)
Sum of all activity durations (if executed sequentially)
Sum of total project activity float
To assess project investment, identify predictive resource metrics, such as:
Cost estimates
Budget at completion
