Review Plans and Objectives

Setting the project baseline is the final component of project plan development.

Assemble your project plan components and verify that the planning is thorough, realistic, and capable of delivering the results desired. Inspect your plans for omissions, excessive optimism, and other defects. Compare the total number of effort months required by your project plan with the effort actually used to finish several similar earlier projects successfully. Adjust your estimates and plans if the comparison seems too optimistic. Ensure that project reviews are scheduled periodically on long projects.
