Schedule a meeting with the project sponsor to discuss the results of your planning, and your alternative plan or plans.

Begin your discussions by showing how the best planning results are inadequate for achieving the initial project goals. Use your planning summary, supported by additional detail as necessary.

Present your best alternative, along with any other good options you developed. Encourage questions and discussion of alternatives, and support your proposals using historical, documented project data.
