This glossary contains definitions of the key project management terminology used in this book. All definitions are the author’s own. The terms are defined as they are used in project management contexts.

Agile An innovative style of project management that evolved, and continues to evolve, from the Manifesto for Agile Software Development, written in 2001. Initially a software development approach, and using a number of software specific techniques such as pair programming and continuous integration, the agile approach is being adapted and applied increasingly to non-software development projects.

APM Acronym for the Association of Project Management.
