Level 3. Project Manager

The project manager is responsible for managing complete mid-to large-sized projects that may be broken into sub-projects, each with a team leader or project leader. On a larger project, the project team usually consists of between ten and fifty participants, although these are rough guidelines. The project manager is not responsible for producing project deliverables. The project manager reports to a line manager or project director.

During project planning, the project manager is solely responsible for gathering any information needed to produce the work breakdown structure and activity estimates and is also responsible for project staffing, resource leveling, and the project schedule.
