Discovering the Progress Principle
WHEN WE first saw Helen’s May 25 diary entry, we were stunned. Only five days had passed since thirty of her firm’s project managers had been laid off, and members of HotelData’s Infosuite team still feared their own heads might be on the chopping block. Angry and bitter, Helen and her teammates had little reason to trust their firm’s parent company, DreamSuite Hotels. And yet something had changed:
I was called in to work on the Big Deal project. So DreamSuite has to go to court. So Big Deal. What about my vacation? I’m angry about being called in. But I think I did some really good work under pressure. And I feel that I really supported the team. [Helen, 5/25]
