8.4. Summary
Fixed wireless Internet access is growing in popularity because it is generally less expensive and quicker to deploy than similar landline technologies. Fixed wireless technologies are improving at a very fast rate, making them attractive to cost-conscious companies.
It is important to remember that while there are some special concerns with fixed wireless Internet access, they are really no different than the concerns for landline access. If the same precautions that are followed for landline connectivity are followed for wireless connectivity, fixed wireless Internet access can be as secure as landline Internet access.
