Staffing a root cause analysis effort can include a number of different people and teams, including those named in Figure 11-2 (later). Each party plays a different role in the RCA study process, as mentioned throughout this chapter. Although the specific makeup of the RCA team may vary dramatically, from a single engineer or researcher to an entire team, the role of an RCA analyst is critical to success, regardless of how the effort is organized.
