24.1. Program Initiation Processes

Program initiating begins with the processes external to the program that are required to formally authorize and start a new program. For example, when beginning the initiating processes, all activities, business needs, and requirements are reviewed, the program initiation documentation is assembled, and a charter is obtained to perform the work. Figure 24-1 illustrates the integration of the processes contained within the program management initiating processes.
