23.5. Portfolio Closing Processes

Portfolio closing formalizes acceptance of the products, services, or results and brings the portfolio to an orderly end. It includes termination of all activities and closure for the supported business objectives and strategic initiatives. When completed, this small group of processes confirms that the work defined in the portfolio procedures are completed across all portfolio management processes. If a project or program is prematurely terminated for any reason, the activities identified in the closing process must still be completed. Figure 23-5 defines the integration of the closing processes.
