23.2. Portfolio Planning Processes

Portfolio planning defines and matures the portfolio scope, develops the management plan, and identifies and schedules the activities. Good planning helps the portfolio manager supported by the EPMO, to manage the portfolio successfully. The planning processes gather information from many sources and establish the course of action required for attaining the related business objectives. Figure 23-2 defines the integration of the processes contained within the project management planning processes.
