23.1. Portfolio Initiation Processes

Portfolio initiation consists of the processes required to formally recognize the authorization of the new portfolio or the updating of any ongoing portfolio. This includes receipt and review of the portfolio charter issued by the sponsor, who is outside of the portfolio, the accompanying scope of work documents, and the business needs and requirements.
