19.1. Identifying and Compiling Business Strategies
The first management action in the strategic planning process is executive development of a set of strategies that support the enterprise’s vision/mission. The next step is to create a list of strategies that describes executive management’s purpose and scope for each strategy. Table 19-1 provides the general steps for this process; the results are documented in Table 19-2. The final step, which many enterprises fail to perform, is to prioritize the business strategies (see examples in Table 19-2).
