15.6. Actual Costs and Accounting Systems Interfaces

The data source for all actual costs will usually be the enterprise’s accounting system. Actual costs include, but are not limited to, labor, materials, equipment, travel, and other direct costs (ODCs). Accruing costs in PBMIS is the process of entering costs incurred but not yet invoiced or entering costs that have been incurred by a supplier and invoiced but not yet entered into an enterprise’s accounting system. The system interface provides for a user-initiated electronic upload from the supplier’s systems of data invoice files as cost accrual data.
