7.3. Division Project Management Office (DPMO) Structure

Figure 7-3 shows the organizational structure of a division (or regional or portfolio) project management office (DPMO) that is responsible for developing and implementing project business management best practices as core competencies enterprise wide within a division, region, or major facility—or for a single portfolio. The DPMO is managed by a senior manager who reports directly to the Chief Project Management Officer or to the division general manager. If the DPMO reports to the division general manager, then it has an indirect reporting interface to the enterprise project management office on matters relating to portfolio, program, and project management.
