2.2. Typical Project Management Office Structure

The functional organization used to provide and implement project management is referred to by many different names, such as Project Office (PO), Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE), or Corporate Project Management Office (CPMO), but it is most often identified simply as a Project Management Office (PMO). Figure 2-1 llustrates how a project management office may fit into an enterprise’s organizational structure.
